This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a jobapplication.

You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus youshould save her first; Or you could take the old friend because he oncesaved your life, and this should be the perfect chance to pay him back.However , you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.

The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming upwith his answer. He simply answered: "I would give the car keys to my oldfriend and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind andwait for the bus with thepartner of my dreams."

On that thunderous night, I will give lift to the old lady whose health is in a deteriorating condition . I will try to take her to the nearest hospital or clinic so that no stone is left unturned to bring her out of her ill health and save a human life.

The doctor can be left with the young lady so that she is not left alone in that wild night. She has been my sweetheart in my imagination…& imaginations are usually frivolous – it is not essential that my fantasy about the young lady would turn into a reality only if she is given a lift. In fact she should be rather impressed by my chivalrous decision to help the old lady .

The doctor , if he true to his profession, would himself ask me to take the old lady to some hospital nearby.

Figuratively speaking, that which is old , is our culture , tradition & heritage which we should definitely try to revive & redeem. So I will give lift to The Old lady.
