Excuse me folks! But there is some mistake. Actually I am cut-pasting things that I wrote in Mouth-shut.com. I have mixed up Mumbai Matinee and Split Wide Open ! The other day I saw "Split Wide Open" in bits & pcs. and it was pretty much shocking ! and the scene when Rahul asks his lil' sister to come along with him and she refuses point blank as she was enjoying both the "Old haggard" man 's house and comfort and the servant who open the door for Rahul ! Later she made a gesture by "biting a bar of chocolate" and saying that she knows what men are all about ! So an Indian uneducated, poor girl, less than 13 years of age, knew what men are all about ...but still we hear educated men and women fighting amongst each other saying " you did not understand me" to each other ! |
An afternoon in Mumbai
Saw this movie parallel-ly with main hoon na – saw both in bits and pieces.
About Mumbai matinee : story of a Bengali boy (gosh! Bengali again!!) who is desperately wanting to loose his virginity . along with it he is seeking his long lost sister.
While looking for his sister and simultaneously looking for a suitable circumstance to break his scrotum cover …the movie takes you around the life style of Mumbai !
Its
utter crass I tell you- before I thought that kolkatans are loosers but after
seeing this movie I realized that “Aamcha Mumbai” is even worst!
Some scenes that I saw –
A fraud guru sends him to an apt place for loosing his virginity – a brothel – he is caught by the police ! mission fails!
While seeking for sister , he reaches a closet where girls between the age group of 8 – 12 years are sitting all dressed to be humped !! – totally disbelieving !! I cannot imagine that such tender aged girls are being made prostitutes !! its very heart wrenching! – what are the “Women’s liberation squad” doing ..have been doing all these years I wonder !!
Meets a girl who is also a virgin who had been ditched by her lover previously.
A dialogue is exchanged that was rather shocking to me – this rahul fella says : My virginity has become a National treasure ! – no ones a virgin till 32 !! – says who?! Which planet do you belong Mr. Mumbai Matinee Director ?! – how dare you write such a thing about such a sensitive issue? Maybe the people you move around with have no cultural and ethical values but the common mass has ample supply of it – do you understand ? DO not try to convey to the world that Indians are as cheap as a Sidney Sheldon novel character …and if I ever get some power, I will sure make you apologize for this statement that you boldly proclaimed ! – some cheek you have !
And
in the last scene, rahul says sitting on the bench something like “there
are no rules..make your own rules and blah blah…” some management
chela’s lecture cut pasted…let me tell you something which I often
tell people…when they deny the existence of God –
I ask “ have you ever had tea from a road side tea- stall?”
Answer is usually “Yes”
So a Rs.2/- per “kullad ki chaya” (earthen cup tea) / or glass requires
– Kettle, fire, K.Oil or coal, clean drinking water, not so clean “washing
utensils” water, tea leaves, milk, sugar, spoon to stir, a particular
process to make tea (eg. First boil the water then put tea leaves) – a
rule to make ie….so much effort to earn Rs. 2/- ….so folks, when
a single cup of tea requires so much organization and processes ..do you really
think that this world order is going on suspended in mid air? – if you
think like that – then I think you are a fool !...and such fools are creating
this unrest and ruckus in the society – these
hippies , disorganized life styles of certain people is the bane of our existence.
