Bitsies on Chemistry & Physics

Apologies :Do not feel much bad dear Subjects by the name of Chemistry & Physics. You see I graduated with Zoology Honors..so it is evident that Zoology and her brother Botany stayed with me till my 3rd year whereas Chemistry left me after Part I and Physics had left me in after class 12th ! Actually I left you guys purposely as I never had Mathematics in class XI and XII ...so do you realise how difficult it was for me to actually mug up trigonometry, permutations and combinatons required while mugging up Theory of Relativity by good old Albert Einstien (psst...He had an affair with Marlyn Monroe?!)? Things like: one upon cos c...etc.

Why does this matter?

What significance do electron shells have on the fact that "you'd rather be fishing"?

As it turns out, the reason hydrogen atoms stick to oxygen atoms to form the water in the fish pond depends on
electron structure.
Actually, just about everything depends on electron structure. The chemical properties of an atom will depend on the number of electrons in the atom's outermost (or valence) electron shell. Thus lithium behaves more similarly to hydrogen than it does to helium because both lithium and hydrogen have 1 electron in their outermost shell.  The atoms can be arranged according to their electron structure and chemical properties. This is where we encounter the Periodic Table of Elements.

The Periodic Table of Elements was first proposed by a Russian chemist named Dmitri Mendeleev in 1871.

Atoms are ordered by their atomic number in the Periodic Table.

The Table is set up so as to indicate the number of electron shells in each atom and the number of valence electrons (electrons in the outermost shell) in the atom.

As you descend rows in the Table, the number of electron shells in the atom increases.

For example, hydrogen (H) in the 1st row has 1 shell, lithium (Li) in the 2nd row has 2 shells, sodium (Na) 3
shells.

By Convention there is Color

By Convention there is Sweetness

By Convention there is Bitterness

But in reality there are atoms and space

Democritus - 400 BC

A negatively charged Hydrogen ion. Hydrogen: a proton surrounded by an electron cloud. An isotope of Hydrogen - Deuterium An electron

So...did you see dear people the complexity behind the making of "life giving"water? What if God starts to charge you for water...air, gravitational pull, space or ether...where will you all go ? Have you ever wondered...or all that you do is watch Television and laugh, gorge potato chips, dance in pubs among pot bellied beer drinking bears - who are ofcourse very dear to a certain section of society.....they pay for beer - thus the waiter, hotel staff etc. get paid at the end of the month - every month - then they wait for Puja Bonus - given to them by these Beer Drinkers....in exchange of some one's daughter or wife or sister ...oh ! well how does it matter? This is life..is'nt it?

PS. Is'nt it rather strange... Mendel found out about the Genetic makeup of living things - the genetic code and mapping ...whereas Mendeleev discovered (not invented mind you) the atomic structure of non-living things ! Just a difference of "eev" - and both have done wonders to this World with their discoveries !!

A Mind without Eve and another ..with Eve ( I suppose ..no where is it mentioned that Mendeleev too took to Priesthood)...tried a bit of Lexigramming stunt (refer page on Linda Goodman).

We read about hydrogen & carbon both in Physics and Chemistry - that was redundant I tell you!
